Y & T : On With the Show

Narrated by none other than the iconic Eddie Trunk, and woven together by the tales spun by the band’s frontman, Dave Meniketti, this is a backstage pass to the heart and soul of Y&T, as recounted by those who lived through it all. This ain’t no Lifetime movie!
We’re rewinding the tape to the days when Y&T was just a group of hopefuls jamming away in the front room of Leonard’s grandma’s house in sunny Oakland, California. Fast forward over 40 years, and you’re about to embark on a journey that’s seen it all.
From crisscrossing the country in a trusty Volkswagen van and a trustier pickup truck during their early touring days to the wild and woolly tales of recording their first two Yesterday & Today albums. Picture this: rubbing shoulders with the legendary Bill Graham and sharing the stage with rock titans like Journey, Boston, and Queen. That’s just the tip of the rock ‘n’ roll iceberg.
But the Y&T story goes beyond American soil; it’s about conquering foreign lands and leaving their mark on stages across the globe. Imagine being on the road with the likes of AC/DC, Ozzy Osbourne, and Dio – the stuff of rock ‘n’ roll dreams.
But a career in rock music is not without its ups and downs. A short-lived breakup in the early ’90s left fans in the lurch, only for the band to come roaring back to life a few years later. There’s been the death of major players. There’s been happiness and sorrow. Like sands in the hourglass, these are the days of Y&T’s lives.
In the DVD release, Y&T has a treasure trove of never-before-seen personal footage, concert clips, interviews, and a trove of personal pictures that’ll take you on a visual odyssey through their rock odyssey.
Expect to be treated to rare footage and audio clips, spanning from the band’s fledgling shows to legendary concerts and festivals. And that’s not all – they’ve corralled rockstar celebrities from bands that have either jammed with Y&T or been inspired by their thunderous riffs. Plus, tales from the unsung heroes behind the scenes – the producers, engineers, and roadies who’ve witnessed it all.
This documentary is a journey through Y&T history, where anthems are forged, and amps are cranked to eleven.
