The multi-talented Dutch musician Ron Coolen launched his inaugural album, ‘RISE’, on March 1, 2020, via his own label, RC Music.

This effort was notable for its collaboration with a host of renowned guest artists, such as George Lynch and Christopher Amott.

The album’s favorable reception from audiences and critics alike spurred Coolen to produce a follow-up.

Coolen’s second album, ‘HERE TO STAY’, released on December 1, 2023, marks a significant collaboration with vocalist Keith St John, recognized for his roles in Burning Rain and Montrose.

Featuring St John’s vocals throughout, the album also includes contributions from seven esteemed guitarists, including Gus G. and previously mentioned George Lynch.

Available in CD, streaming, and digital formats, the CD edition uniquely offers three additional bonus tracks.

The album’s sound quality is enhanced by Hans Pieters’ mixing and Svante Forsbäck’s mastering, the latter a Grammy nominee.

Before the album’s official release, fans were treated to two singles: the music video-accompanied ‘Heavy Metal Till I’m Dead’ and ‘Shake me to the Floor’, a homage to Eddie van Halen.

In addition to popular streaming sites, both of Coolen’s albums can be found on his website and Bandcamp.

Critically, ‘Here To Stay‘ is praised for its fusion of classic rock with modern metal elements.

The album features standout tracks such as ‘Firebird’, showcasing Gus G’s guitar prowess.

While it includes traditional rock elements, as seen in ‘Mr Jones’, the album predominantly offers a fresh and engaging sound, appealing to both long-time fans and newcomers to the genre.

Coolen and St John’s collaborative effort in ‘Here To Stay’ is recommended for those who appreciate a mix of classic and contemporary musical styles.
